Spring?

As much as I love snow this is a bit ridiculous. Wait, I hate snow. This is still ridiculous. I'm hating this whole snowing in April crap. I'm so ready to ditch the winter coat and boots and bust out the flip-flops and skirts. I went home to work for the weekend and driving back yesterday afternoon was hell. I was going about 30 down I-88--a road I usually go about 85 on--and I still managed to have a little rodeo into a ditch. It was fun, I did a 360 and went off the road right onto an exit ramp. No worries though, I'm fine, the car is fine and all that jazz. So I just kept on going and finally got back to school. I "unpacked" --aka took everything out of my bag and threw it under my bed and in the closet--then took a much needed nap. About 2 hours after I fell asleep my phone rings, waking me up from a very pleasant dream. It was OK though cuz it was someone I actually wanted to talk to lol. About 10 minutes after I get off the phone, it rings again. My friend George called from Cobleskill to ask me to come get him because he got into an accident and totalled his car. So me, being the awesome friend that I am, set out at about 9:30pm to go get him. Troy ended up going with me just in case, which was comforting just knowing i wasn't going alone. It took us about 45 minutes to an hour to get there and the same amount to get back. Normally it would have taken about an hour round trip but since it's April and all...oh wait it's not supposed to be like this in April!! ( Sorry I'm a little bitter about this whole deal) Long story short-I went off the road at exit 22, I'm fine. George totalled his car at exit 21, he's fine. Snow sucks. The end.

Life isn't all that bad right now. Yeah the end of the semester is coming up and I'm absolutely swamped with work, but I've been having a pretty good time. Last Tuesday I went to Proctor's with my friend Jen to see the travelling tour of RENT. It was absolutely fantastic!! Jen bought the tickets and took me as an early birthday present (and she needed someone that could drive to take her lol). Later that week-it must have been Wednesday-when it was still nice, a bunch of us went to the park and played Frisbee and SPUD and just acted like fools for a bit. It was a lot of fun and I would love to do it again *hint hint mother nature*. After that we went to a battle of the bands where one of our friends' band was playing-they won a spot in OHfest (Oneonta-Hartwick festival thing). Hmm...what else...Oh "She Loves Me", our musical opens in about a week. It's the last show of our season and we're all pretty excited. We also have midnight madness, the end of the year dinner, the Teddies, and the blowout coming up in the next few weeks. Busy times, but I'll make it through.

In other news, I'm sure everyone has heard about the tragedy at Virginia Tech today. It's absolutely devastating. Everyone knows high school shootings happen, but for some reason it's more disconcerting when something like this happens at a college. I'm not saying high school shootings are any less scary, anything like this is absolutely terrible. Our college flag will be lowered for a week to pay respects to those students at VT. Campus wide prayers go out to the students and families of Virginia Tech.
