Long Time, No Blog

Well summer is over and I didn't blog once since I left school, so I'll try to keep it short. I spent this summer in downtown Albany working at Capital Repertory Theatre as the Assistant Stage Manager intern. I had a blast! The first week or so was strike and load in so I was covered in cuts and bruises, but once the actresses got there and the show got going it was much easier. I was a little wary of the show when I first heard that I'd be working on Menopause the Musical all summer, but it turned out to be a hilarious show and the people I worked with were fabulous! My stage manager was absolutely amazing and I learned a lot from him and I'll miss all the craziness of backstage. The actresses were great -- so sweet and hilarious! We had a great time together and it was sad to close and lose them all, but at the same time, 12 weeks of the same show is a little exhausting. I can't post pictures of the show since the set is copyrighted, but I do have pictures from our Saturday night piano bars. Every Saturday we'd all get prettied-up and the band would come down to the cafe and play while the actresses (and some patrons) sang whatever they wanted to. It was a lot of fun :-)

That was my summer. Add a boy here, some drama there, and a few good friends and that about sums up my summer. I'm now back at school and having a great time so far. Today was the first Mask & Hammer meeting and we saw a lot of new faces which is great. Next weekend is our getting to know you party and picnic so that should be fun...if I can get through this week :-)
