End of the Year Stuff

I only have one more wwek of classes left, then another week of finals and then SUMMER VACATION!! (I'm only a little excited lol). There is so much that needs to be done before the semester ends, I have two finals papers, a tap performance, a 1/4 scale model of a set to build, and two written finals. Plus I have to finish altering a dress for my costuming final. That one doubles in purpose though. I have to have it finished by saturday night for our awards show. I'm altering a dress I got when I was in 11th grade (the one Aunt Cindy bought me) and somehow am too small for it now. It's a long black gown with white beading at the bottom, it very nice and I was hoping to get another use out of it.
The awards show is not the only thing going on this weekend. Friday night we are having a Mask & Hammer dinner at the conference center grill/restaurant place on campus. Saturday night is the Teddy Awards (the awards are teddy bears) which is like our version of the Oscars and that type of thing--basically we get to dress up and win things. Then Sunday is the Blowout, which is a picnic at a nearby lake. This is the big weekend everyone looks forward to all year. We get T-shirts and free food and we have lots of fun...then we get thrown in the lake. Good times. However, this is also going to be a very sad weekend. At the Teddys, we also have "senior spotlights" --basically a goodbye to each senior and telling them how awesome they are. We're losing a lot of seniors this year, we actually had to change the format of the night so the spotlights wouldn't go on until 4am like they used to. Either way, i will be a bitter-sweet weekend with lots of laughter and tears.
On a more pleasant note, I may be getting a paid internship at Captial Repertory Theatre this summer. I'm applying for the assistant stage manager position and crossing my fingers that I get it. It will be a fantastic experience! It's 40 hours a week, minimum wage (good for an internship as most are not paid, or poorly paid), they provide housing for a very minimal amount, and it's a theatre I've seen shows at a million times. One of the professors here has been in contact with the theatre and has dropped my name for the position, so my fingers are crossed. Hopefully I will hear back by early next week, possibly this weekend. If I get this internship, it will make me the happiest person alive! (For the moment at least). A few of my friends in the department are also applying for internships there, though in different positions. I'm hoping at least me and Sara get in...it would just be Baldwintastic (she's a Baldwin too) and she would definately make the summer more fun!
Well I think it's time for bed, I have a long day of sewing and decorating for the Teddys ahead of me...maybe a little shopping for the dinner too :-)
