The Story So Far
So I've been in Oneonta a little less than two weeks now and I absolutely love it here! My roommate seems nice but we don't hang out or really talk at all. I know her name is Jeanette, she's asian and from Brooklyn (I think). She also has a twin and she's a fashion major. That's all I know lol. My suitemates are all pretty nice too. Three are sorority girls and the fourth is on the swimming team. So They only come here to sleep and get ready to go out. It's not a bad set-up. I like that people aren't here all the time. I also like the fact that you can see into the suite next door from our common room window. The six guys that live there are all gorgeous ;-) They're all really nice too. They chill over here and we go over there. It's fun. The other day I was sitting in our common room and one of the guys came in looking for something but couldn't find it and then he randomly told me he had a bad day and he needed a hug. It was adorable lol. Troy and Pete are the ones I've talked to the most. Troy is a theatre major so I have a feeling I'll be seeing alot of him once the season starts since I'll be doing crew. I cna't wait. I miss being involved in theatre. We're doing "Wait Until Dark" and "Twelfth Night" this semester. I have to do stage crew for at least one for my stagecraft class, but I'll end up doing crew for both hopefully.
As far as classes go, they are all ok. I dropped my 8am precalc class and picked up a 9 am math for liberal arts class (aka EASY math I took in like 9 and 10th grade). My Lit class is ok so far, lots of readin obviously. American lit is the same thing, tons of reading-that one is kind of boring though. My friend Rodney who went to Buff State is in it with me though. Stagecraft is fun, we get to play with power tools hehehe. Sadly that's only two days a week though, one of which is a lecture and the other is the lab. Either way I love it. The teacher is awesome, he cracks me up! The first day when he was giving a tour of the theatres he was talking about the fire curtain (which is made of asbestos) and he said " Don't lick the fire curtain. That's baaaaad". That was our safety lesson. lol I'm also taking Foil Fencing. Yes, I get to play with a sword for 3 hours twice a week. It's amazing. I'll definately be in shape at the end of the semester. Between fencing (major leg work), stagecraft (lifting and such), and living on the fourth floor with no elevator....oh and the whole campus is uphill. No matter where you go, you have to walk uphill. Even if you go the same way to get back from where you went...it's uphill. I don't get it lol. Now I understand the whole "I walked 10 miles to school uphill both ways". It's going to be terrible in the snow, but at least I'll have good legs and a nice ass ;-) hahaha
So that's how school is going so far...fun but fairly uneventful.
