Wow...

Ryan just left for Japan for two years. I didn't think it would hit me like this. As he was leaving I could see how upset Jen was and that's what did it for me. Thank goodness Q was here because honestly it would have been about 10 times worse if he wasn't. It seems like the military is taking all of my friends away. First Ryan, then Jarrod, then JP, and now Jay. I can't help but wonder who is next. I know that it's what they want, but it's so hard to keep saying goodbye while pretending that everything is OK. Who knows if we'll ever see each other again because when they all come back we will all be at such different points in our lives that who can say what will happen. So we're saying goodbye pretending that things will be the same when they come back, when in reality we all know it will never be the same ever again.

It's so much easier to think that things are never going to change.
